Muslims around the world eat iftar dinner, also known as futoor, after sunset to break their fast during the month of Ramadan. Iftar is said to bring blessings, especially for those that make arrangements for Iftar for others. Ramadan occurs during the month in which Muslims believe the Quran began to be revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. This holy month is a period of fasting for Muslim communities, as well as reflection and self-restraint, to purify their souls and recenter their faith.
